I found the link to the 2.5SDK but am struggling to find out what is ‘current’ with XML mapping and Microsoft Word in calendar year 2017. There is a lot of coverage of ‘old’ stuff re Word 2010 and tools when there was some excitement around then a little resurgence with the advent of Word 2013 and XML content control improvements. I am in the U.K construction industry. On a project we produce high level work package documents and each may contain dozens of statements on specific risks. I am looking to tag these risks via XML so that we could check how child documents cover off groups of risk. Say high level document has risks A,B,C,D. Low level(1) refers to A,C, Low level(2) refers B,D.
I was hoping to put something together with Word/2016 and XML and learn the VBA that goes with it. I need to find out if this objective is realistic so I can I get away with just out of the box Word.
Should I go for it?
